Singapore Sketchers is driven by the passion and dedication of our volunteer members. Many juggle full-time careers, artistic pursuits, and family responsibilities, yet they generously donate their time to keep the group thriving. This shared love for art and sketching fuels our efforts.
In 2025, we're excited to welcome new members to our committee! This expansion will allow us to organize more engaging events and offer even better services to our sketching community.
Singapore Sketchers was founded in 2020 by Whee Teck during the pandemic. Feeling isolated and eager to connect with fellow art enthusiasts, he started the group on a whim.
After a series of successful events, Singapore Sketchers is now expanding its offerings. Whee Teck has assembled a dedicated team to bring more exciting events and enriching educational programs to our members and the public.
Whee Teck brings a wealth of experience to the group. He is a 30-year veteran of the IT industry and currently works as a soft skills trainer for professionals. He also shares his artistic journey and insights on his YouTube channel.
During the week, Thain Lin leads and manages IT projects in a large professional business service firm. Over the weekend, he immerses himself in making art, using his talent to visually document and interpret the urban spaces that inspire him.
His preferred mediums are ink and watercolours. He creates intricate and expressive art pieces with these mediums. He also likes to work with oils and acrylics, often producing impactful, large-scale works that is admired by many.
Thain Lin enjoys connecting with people through his art. His commissioned pieces of cherished places bring life to his clients. It is his belief that art serves as a bridge to happiness, and this is very much reflected in his vibrant, heartfelt creations.

Sherlee began her art journey in 2016, seeking an outlet to relieve stress but it evolved into a path of self-discovery and growth. She realised that painting was more than just a hobby, it was a mirror reflecting her evolution and the building of confidence, both within herself and her art. Each stroke and sketch became a step towards understanding what she could do and what truly motivated her. The process was not always smooth, with moments of effortless creativity encountered by doubt and frustration. These challenges taught her resilience and patience, revealing the depth of her passion and clarifying why she creates.
