In collaboration with the National Library Board (NLB), we organize a PLAY event. This event brings together Singapore Sketchers members and the public to learn about sketching. We offer demonstrations and talks to introduce participants to the art of sketching.

In addition to our annual exhibitions, we also offer a series of sketching workshops. These workshops cater to both beginner and intermediate levels and provide a supportive environment for learning. The public is welcome to participate.

Occasionally, Singapore Sketchers organizes conventions or special events. We held our first convention in 2023, featuring talks by experts in various fields, including intellectual property rights and art materials. These events offer valuable insights and networking opportunities for our members.

Whee Teck started Singapore Sketchers during the pandemic due to his frustration with the lack of online platforms to share his sketches, which were primarily created from photographs. He launched the Singapore Sketchers Facebook page on July 12, 2020, without anticipating its rapid growth and subsequent popularity.

Singapore Sketchers relies on the dedication and time of our volunteers. We encourage you to volunteer whenever possible, especially during exhibitions, where we need volunteers to assist with seating, and at other events, where we require ushers and other roles.

Singapore Sketchers welcomes new ideas and suggestions, particularly from members who are interested in volunteering their time to lead initiatives. One of our committee members would be happy to discuss your proposal with you.
